Brugge, Belgium (Bruges)

First of all, I'm sorry that I didn't get this post up sooner... I went to Brugge a week ago from yesterday, but between the Rhine River cruise the next day and flying back to the States the day after that, I've been a little busy. Anyway, here are some pictures from Brugge, Belgium!! It was such a cute city; I'm really glad that I went on the USO tour. It was so much fun, apart from the fact that it rained all day (of course.) But I met some really nice people and we had a really fun day together!

Lake of Love

Brugge is known as "Venice of the North" because of its canal system.

Tiny window that overlooked the canal to make sure that everybody stopped and paid the water tax.

The more modern Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse

The Basilica of the Holy Blood. The relic of ancient blood inside of the basilica was brought back to Brugge from the Crusades, and is widely believed to be Christ's blood.

The view of Brugge from the top of the belfry. It was so rainy and windy that I was glad that I could get at least one decent picture.

Michelangelo's Madonna and Child... his only work to leave Italy during his lifetime.

Definitely worth the day trip if anybody ever gets a chance to visit! I would go back again... I'm sure it's even prettier in the sunshine!
